Known as the fashion capital, Italy's second-largest city, Milan, is one of the leading tourist and cultural centers in Northern Italy and one of the most attractive shopping destinations in Europe. Milan offers excellent shopping opportunities, from leading designer boutiques to modern shopping areas. Italian cuisine offers a rich variety for every taste, which can be experienced in traditional pizzerias, cozy neighborhood bistros, small gelato shops, fine restaurants, or specialty wine and sushi bars.
Among the must-see sights in Milan are the world-famous La Scala opera house and the Gothic Duomo cathedral, opposite which is the Royal Palace with a number of exhibitions. Don't miss the famous mural "The Last Supper" in the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, and then check out the interactive Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology or one of the city's many art spaces. A walk to the Sforza Castle, built in 1368, is another iconic experience for all visitors to the city, and football fans can visit the sports museum at the legendary San Siro stadium. Motorsport enthusiasts have the opportunity to attend a Formula 1 race at the Monza circuit, located 15 km from Milan.
