
Information for passengers regarding renovation works at Vasil Levski Airport – Sofia from 28 July
We would like to inform all passengers that on Monday, 28 July, Vasil Levski Airport – Sofia will begin the process of replacing its baggage handling system. In this regard, passenger service counters 24 to 34 at the capital's airport will be temporarily closed. These activities may cause delays in the process of ground customer service, check-in, and baggage drop-off.
Although Bulgaria Air counters (numbers 1 to 7) will continue to operate during the renovation work, temporary changes may occur due to operational requirements and the reallocation of resources for ground handling of passengers of other airlines during the busiest season with an increased volume of international flights.
For a more convenient and hassle-free journey, we recommend that all our passengers use the free online check-in before their flight by registering via the Bulgaria Air website or mobile app. All additional travel services, such as seat selection, checked baggage, pet transport, unaccompanied children, etc., can be requested in advance electronically.
The national carrier reminds passengers traveling from Sofia to plan enough time to get to the airport before their flight. According to the official recommendation of Vasil Levski Airport – Sofia, passengers should arrive at least 2 hours before their flight, while DG CAA recommends arriving 2 hours and 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
Bulgaria Air also encourages passengers traveling with checked baggage to actively use the available drop-off counters for leaving their suitcases. The counters only require passengers to have completed online check-in for their flight and to hand over their baggage for registration. Using the baggage counters at the airport will save passengers a significant amount of time and ensure a much easier and smoother passage through the remaining procedures before boarding.
