Bulgaria Air and Vasil Levski Airport – Sofia welcomed their 8 millionth passenger for 2025
On December 16, 2025, Vasil Levski Airport – Sofia marked an important moment in its history by welcoming its 8 millionth passenger for the year. The anniversary passenger arrived on Bulgaria Air's regular flight FB 450 from Rome to Sofia at 12:15 p.m. and received a wonderful surprise.
The lucky passenger was Valeri Trencheva, who was traveling with her pet from Italy to Bulgaria. During the festive ceremony and special welcome at Terminal 2, she expressed her gratitude for the warm gesture and surprise. The ceremony was filled with positive energy thanks to the beautiful performances by the children's vocal group Pim-Pam and the colorful confetti for the 8 millionth passenger.
The event was attended by the airport's executive director, Mr. Jesus Caballero, who drew an analogy between one of the songs performed by the choir, Let There Be Light, and the future of Vasil Levski Airport - even brighter, with even greater development.
On behalf of Bulgaria Air, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bulgaria Air, Mr. Hristo Todorov, addressed the 8 miliionth passenger and the audience: „It is a great pleasure for me, on behalf of the national carrier Bulgaria Air, to be part of this important event, and I am delighted that we can celebrate it together with Vasil Levski Airport thanks to our wonderful cooperation.“
The CEO of SOF Connect and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bulgaria Air congratulated the anniversary passenger and together presented her with a special joint award from the airport and the national carrier.
The award is a voucher for a free trip for two passengers on a route of their choice from Bulgaria Air's regular routes, including checked baggage. The voucher is valid for one year and can be used until December 16, 2026.
With their joint initiative, SOF Connect and Bulgaria Air are celebrating both their impressive annual results and the important role of passengers who choose to travel with the national carrier. Together, the two companies have placed an emphasis on caring for passengers passing through the capital's airport and the successful development of the aviation sector in Bulgaria, announcing plans to create an even better five-star product with the creation of Terminal 3.
