„Bulgaria Air” and „LSG Sky Chefs” established a new joint venture company for airline catering
03.09.2010On 18.08.2010, the official ceremony for the incorporation of “Silver Wings” – the joint-venture airline catering company between Bulgaria Air and LSG Sky Chefs (a subsidiary of Deutsche Lufthansa AG), took place in a business atmosphere at “Grand Hotel Sofia”.
Alongside the Executive Directors of CCB and Armeec, the event was attended also by the management of other companies within the group of the Bulgarian investor.
The contract was signed by Cpt. Yanko Georgiev and Nedyalko Delchinov (Executive Directors of “Bulgaria Air”) and by Mr. Alfred Rigler (LSG Sky Chefs’ Chief Operating Officer for Africa, Eastern Europe, India and the Middle East).
The establishment of „Silver Wings” Ltd. is a clear message for a change in the airline catering vision and creation of a product which is associated with high quality and internationally recognized work standards.
Both partners have experience in the catering business - LSG Sky Chefs is the world’s largest provider of in-flight services and the Bulgarian partner has strong local positions in the restaurant business, also demonstrated by the preparation for construction of 3 hotels in Varna, Burgas and Sofia from a hotel chain under the trademark „Bulgaria Air”.
The initial investment by „Silver Wings” Ltd. will be BGN 2 000 000 and future investment plans envision a new canteen to serve the airport staff in the security airside area.
The new company will be managed entirely according to the internationally recognized standards of LSG Sky Chefs, which means that all the staff will pass an extensive training program.
