The 100th anniversary of Bulgarian aviation was celebrated with a
memorable air show at Krumovo airport near Plovdiv.
In the presence of more than ten thousand spectators, pilots from
the Air Forces of Russia, Sweden, Italy, Germany, Romania, Serbia and
Greece demonstrated their skills. Bulgaria was represented by pilots flying
MiG-29, MiG-21, Su-25, Pilatus PC-9M and C 27J Spartan aircrafts,
as well as Mi-17, Mi-24, Bell 206 and Cougar helicopters.
One of the main attractions of the event was the demonstration flight
of an Airbus A319 from Bulgaria Air piloted by the company’s CEO,
Captain Yanko Georgiev. In addition to the show more than 1,200 people
managed to take advantage of the opportunity to see the cockpit and to
personally speak to the pilot.
